This is the not the first Android tablet I own, but I used to have only 7 inches ones and thought of upgrading to one that has a bigger screen and higher resolutions with substantially faster CPU speed and essentially more RAM. This is it.

First, a bit on the clarification from the specs. It is NOT running at 1.5 Ghz but at 1.08Ghz with an ARMv7 rev2 CPU, with about 800megs of RAM instead of 1Gb. The exact resolution is 1024 x 720, pretty close to what it says on the page. Now that the CPU isn't running at what its claimed, doesn't mean its slow, but quite the opposite, its fast and responsive, so much better than my other COBY ones. The most that I like about this tablet is that its really thin, the shell/housing of the machine is all metal (except the screen, being hard IPS). I am not too sure if the screen is indeed glass or hard plastic, but it certainly feels like glass.

The Tursion comes with Google Play Store installed right out of the box, and is already rooted. There has not been much lags, if not at all, and I find browsing the internet with the original browser smooth and responsive, now imagine what it feels like when you install Dolphin or other ones of your favorite. The screen is absolutely gorgeous, so much better than all of my other Android tablets, with great contrast and sharpness. As far as compatibility, I have Skype installed and could do video chats with not hiccups, websites that need Flash to run are behaving normally and well, again, little to no lags. It plays movies at full screen very beautifully with fine details and fluid motions, its unbelievable ! I just love watching full length movies on it !

I haven't tried using the built-in cameras much, but you do get a 2.0 megapixels one at the back, and a pretty crappy one that's facing you. I don't shoot anything with these pinhole cameras anyway, I use a REAL camera with a REAL physical glass lens for pictures if there is a need.

Now there are, however, a few things that I find that kinda bother me a bit. There is NO hardware back button, NO hardware menu button, and NO hardware home button. All of these buttons are software(part of the OS) and are inside the display on the menu/status bar, so if an app that is designed to run at full screen (like some games), you won't see them, and therefore, not intuitive for exiting or quitting. There are only 3 physical buttons you can press, Vol Up, Vol Down, and Power On/Off. If there was at least a hardware Home or Back button, it would be absolutely fantastic. Lastly, the machine, quite often, generates operation noise coming out from the speakers at the back, not sure what it is, but even if you set the volume to be mid to low, you can still hear it, even when you just browse around and not clicking anything. The noise doesn't bother you at a high level, but you know its there and you can't miss it. Another more serious issue is the CPU specs, it is NOT running at 1.5Ghz as advertized, but at a much slower speed of 1.08Ghz.

To me, I think this Tursion tablet is well worth the price, even when there are a couple of drawbacks about missing buttons and the slight noise of operations, with, or without the associated keyboard as depicted from the photos.

UPDATE (8-20-2013): After more than a year of use, it is still a very solid performer, even when the standards these days are all about dual or quad core CPUs and super hi-res screens. There are a few more things that are also worth mentioning. The tablet came pre-rooted, but I had to install Superuser myself, and it worked ! With Superuser, this rooted tab allows me to have a firewall installed, which then blocks out all those nasty and annoying ads from some of the apps and games I downloaded, however, if your app NEEDS to access the internet for data and updates, the firewall is then useless. Therefore, for a simple app such as a notepad type of tool, it does NOT need to access the web, therefore, you can use a firewall to block those banner ads, and it works marvelously. Another thing is that the CPU is indeed running at 1.08Ghz(as I mentioned previously), but since it is rooted, I installed SetCPU to overclock it to about 1.15Ghz. It became very unstable at 1.2Ghz. Therefore, 1.15Ghz is just about the best you can get from the CPU and it does make a bit of difference in terms of responsiveness. Bluetooth works flawlessly, I pair it with a set of headphones, and the sound quality is pretty awesome.
