I was already alerted to the potential software problem by another reviewer. My software (for USB connection) would not install after trying it 3 times; it hung at 99% and timed out. I called HP Tech Support and they said that they are collecting info to find out what the problem is. As the other reviewer mentioned, I was led through the menus on the printer to delete the installer there, but he also did some complicated other things by taking over my computer. It then worked flawlessly, and is the best I have had, the time to the first page and the pages/minute have been the best I've had on several HP laserjet color printers, so after that installation problem I've been very happy with it. Another reviewer said he got the software to install by using the WiFi set up and then reverting to USB direct connection. - Roger
