The picture shown with only lights on the front panel (ports on the back) does not represent the FVS318G described, but rather the older FVS318. In fact, the FVS318G has all ports on the FRONT panel with miniature LED's integrated in the ports, and the power connector on the back. This makes it less than ideal for desktop use since at least one wire must hang out the front facing panel: either the power cord (and no lights visible), or all the ethernet cables (an ugly mess).Otherwise, the FVS318G is a good upgrade from the FVS318, providing gigabit capability which the older unit lacked.
