I have 3 of these in my workstation for SSD drives and SAS 600GB 10K drives. I have not had one issue, the SAS drives needed to have the top plastic plate left off on the install but that was known before I started the project. I have had these about a year now and they are PERFECT. Love them, Only complaint would be they look kind of pink when active but the blue matches the rest of my system and they look pretty sweet .

I also use Supermicro Backplane's for my 3.5" drives and these are just as good on performance and durability.

I have spent an entire day attempting to get these cartridges to work. After following the short instructions to install the cartridges I have been unable to print a successful print head test. Yellow and Magenta are completely missing on most of the tests and all the other colors are missing lines. I've performed multiple head cleanings with no success.

Even more frustrating is the cartridges are randomly not recognized by the printer causing me to remove the unrecognized cartridge and re-install it which frequently caused a different cartridge to not be recognized. I switched the refillable cartridges with the Epson cartridges that came with the printer and the print head test printed just fine without having to perform a head cleaning.

It is apparent the quality of this product is substandard and the quality control from the manufacturer is non-existent. As a final frustration, these cartridges fit substantially tighter in the printer than the Epson cartridges making them very difficult to remove. Not a problem except for having to continually remove random cartridges because the printer no longer recognizes them. My finger tips are seriously bruised from fighting to pull the cartridges out of the printer.

An entire day wasted and I have not been able to successfully print a single page. I've requested a refund and I will not purchase from this company again.

Acer Aspire AS5745PG-3882 15.6-Inch Touch Screen Laptop (Black) Review

What a great value! This is a great computer at a great price. The touchscreen feature is great and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

This computer has features that only other much more expensive computers have, including Nvidea Graphic, i5 CPU, touchscreen, HDMI, several USB ports, multicard memory reader, camera... I'm sure I'm missing some things..

It also has a great keyboard and the mousepad works well, the mousebuttons are not to hard to push (many other new laptops require a firm "click" that leads to repetitive stress issues.

I couldn't be happier.

OH.. and the AC adapter plugs into the side, not the back, so it's less likely to be broken when picking up the laptop.

Not that it has anything to do with the computer, but I must take a moment to tell everyone how much I hate UPS shipping. I am frequently reluctant to purchase anything from Amazon simply because they use UPS, for some reason UPS does not like to actually deliver the packages that are sent to me and I sit around all day waiting to sign for the package only to have the driver drive right by my house... leading to me having to take a trip to the UPS shipping office to pick up the package....

Couldn't find a reasonably priced toner cartridge for Minolta PageWorks/Pro 18. Bought the IMAGING UNIT FOR Minolta DI-151F. Level cut off the odd fins on top of the cartridge. It now works great in the PageWorks/Pro 18. I suppose if a person cut too deep he or she would be wearing toner. I bought one of these to replace the HD in my Fujitsu P7120 laptop. Overall it is working reliably but with somewhat less performance benefits than I had hoped.

I used a third-party PATA to ZIF adapter to connect the drive into my laptop. Windows recognized it immediately, with no issues.

The time to load Windows (from when the BIOS first reads the disk until the login screen appears) has improved by about 20%.

Application startup also seems noticeably faster. Because of Windows caching, it's hard to be precise, but it seems like at least 20% faster for Adobe Illustrator and more for Word.

According to MTRON's specification for this drive, for small operations it should deliver up to 25000 sequential reads/sec, or 48000 sequential writes/sec, or 16000 random reads/sec, but only 60 (sixty) random writes/sec. The sequential read and write numbers are extremely good. Alas, the very poor random write numbers are typical for a flash SSD.

So the performance impact will depend greatly on the kind of disk I/O you are doing. The high read rates should benefit system boot and application launching. But the low random write rates will tend to slow down things like copying lots of small files. Unfortunately Windows also has a nasty tendency to do lots of small random disk writes for its own housekeeping purposes (logs, timestamps, etc), including during startup.

I had an initial BIOS glitch (I've put details in a comment below) but that was fixed by upgrading to newer MTRON firmware, which should now be present in all new drives.

The bottom line: The drive works reliably, and as far as I can tell it meets the promised performance. So I'll give it four stars. But at the same time, the overall performance benefit on my laptop has been rather less than I had hoped. Maybe the fault is with Windows rather than MTRON, but overall my laptop feels only slightly faster. Your mileage may vary, but you should probably expect incremental rather than radical change.

Update May 2009: I am now happily using this drive with the Windows 7 Release Candidate. Overall performance seems significantly better than under Vista. Some of that improvement may be due to the enhanced SSD support in Windows 7.
