CPU: Intel i7-3770K, 3.5 GHz (Ivy Bridge)

I was in the market for 2 x 8GB RAM, but found this 4 x 4GB RAM on sale for only $125.46 + tax, an excellent price, so I took a chance on it. Kingston is a very well-known company with a great reputation for quality products and has been around since the 1980s. Add that to Amazon's easy return policy in case anything goes wrong and it's a low-risk/high-reward purchase.

I replaced my G.Skill 1333 MHz Value RAM (no heat spreaders) with the Kingston HyperX 2133 MHz RAM (low profile silver/gray heat spreaders). Even though this exact model wasn't listed in Asus Sabertooth's QVL (Qualified Vendors List) for compatibility, the Kingston brand itself was listed several times under the 2133 speed list and other speed lists in the manual. So, I gave it a try and I can confirm that it DOES work on the Sabertooth Z77 (Intel) motherboard. Although Asus had specific timing recommendations for certain RAM speed (depending on brand/model), I went the simpler route for now. I just changed the speed to 2133 in the BIOS, left advanced settings on "Auto" and selected "Asus Optimal (Performance/Turbo)" preset option for stability and ease of use. This MoBo can go up to 1866 natively, so 2133 is considered OC.

So far, the new RAM is running stable. I shut down my PC completely, then turned it back on several times to check BIOS in making sure the 2133 speed profile is saved and it is (not defaulting down to a slower speed). Also, it's easy to install (as RAM should be), low-profile so the heat spreader doesn't interfere with my after-market heat sink, especially since I'm taking up all four RAM slots. On running the Windows Experience Index, Memory/RAM was rated the highest score of 7.9 (it better be...haha). I've only had this for a short time, but I'm very impressed and happy with my purchase. Since Kingston is a well-known brand that I trust, I have no doubt that it'll continue to operate as expected for as long as I own my desktop pc. Even if I do a complete rebuild a few years down the road, the HyperX RAM (16GB, 2133 MHz) will be one pc part that I won't have to upgrade for a looong time.
