When assembling a high end stereo system or home theater, the connecting cables should be considered as important as your components. The difference is that cables are forever. They get better with age while components will always need to be replaced do to wear or upgraded because of improvements in technology.

While some brands of cables can change the sound of the music when used in combination with other cables or components, Audioquest cables are my neutral cables that will go with any brand of power cord, speaker cable or cables that connect other components. When it comes to the digital signal, many people, including me, are not convinced that a good cable makes a difference. After all, it is just carrying one's and zero's to another component that will convert it to an analog signal that you can hear. I conclude that there is no reason to spend more money than this on a connector for the digital signal and that even this might be more than you need.

TowerRAID TR4X-BHA - 4 Bay SAS / SATA RAID 5 Storage Enclosure (Black) Review

So far, so good. I bought this unit to replace a small (2TB) western digital my book as I needed a lot more capacity for the documentary I'm currently producing. 12TB at RAID 5, is 9TB of online storage. The mini-SAS interface is a bit faster than my WD ESATA interface on my computer, anything helps, but to really speed things up I would have to get 2 towers running in parallel, striped raid 10 (1+0) to really increase the throughput. I can work with a lower resolution for editing as I do not have clients breathing down my neck to work faster. For my system, this tower is great, if you need higher throughput, get the 8 bay model with a dual mini-SAS card, costs more, but does more, fortunately I did not need the maximum speed, I needed performance for my $$ and this unit delivers.

I do not run 24/7, but do have it on 10 hours a day for most of the week.

I'm using Hitachi 3TB, 7200 rpm drives with this tower.
