HP EliteBook 8560w XU085UT 15.6" LED Notebook - Core i7 i7-2720QM 2.2GHz XU085UT#ABA 99715.6" Intel Core 750GB 8GB Review
I purchased an HP 8560w and the laptop didn't work out of the box. The wireless card didn't work and there are multiple case defects. The case area near the mousepad sagged upon touch and appeared to lack support. Similar defects were detected in the corners of the frame where the LCD is. HP did promptly fix the wireless card and one of the defects near the touchpad, but has refused to offer any type of warranty support since. The defects in the case not detected until after the first service call.I tried to launch a trouble ticket online, but the only response I received was from someone in India, who told me I need to take a picture of the problem. After more than a douzen requests, my conclusion is that HP does not offer a 3 year warranty. The warranty is just long enough to prevent you from disputing the product with VISA and shipping it back to them.
When I first purchased this laptop, I was promised a laptop with an all metal case. What I received was a laptop made from plastic. Only the Outside of the lid, and the keyboard side is metal. The bottom of the case is a cheap plastic, like all of the others. For $1690, I think both myself and others could do a lot better. The information on the metal case was conveyed to me by both HP as well as a dealer. I ended up buying it from the dealer because they were $200 cheaper than HP. I don't know whether or not the dealer was aware the case wasn't metal.
I would recommend buying a Sony or Fujitsu, but be sure to get an all metal case. I am certain you would get a little better warranty support from them. The HP warranty service is a bad joke
