I currently own a Link Station Pro Quad 8TB unit. I purchased it from Amazon on April 19 2011, on May 14, 2011 I had my first failure Error Code E07 which is no single lights and 7 red flashing lights in .03 second intervals. This error code means Logic Board failure. I RMA'd the unit back, and Buffalo was more than accommodating and helpful. I received my new (refurbished) unit in 7 days. Unpacked, Setup and began using the unit, all is good ok.On July 31st I went to power up the unit and low and behold I get that damn E07 error again 7 short flashing red lights
Logic Board Failure. Once again Buffalo was more than accommodating and I received my new (refurbished) unit in 5 Business days. As before all went well and and I am in the process of loading it now.
My suggestion to anyone buying a Link-Station DONT! Save your pennies and go for the TeraStation, as it is an Enterprise class unit not a Consumer Class unit like the LinkStation. I always Opt for the Enterprise class in any hardware I purchase, but this time I just could not seem to muster up the $2,700.00 they asked, the $819.34 dollar Link Station seemed more attractive. and Besides I previously had owned an old Link-Station single drive 320 no web access, I left that damn thing on for 3 years non stop without one failure. it ran like a charm. soooo I dunno what is up here, I wish they would do a little bit of investigation into this issue and deem it a Know Issue and put it on the Recall list. It is not the fact they die, it is just a royal pain in the *ss every time I have to reload it. I have 720 Videos along with 1.8TB of Software. So it becomes a 3 week Job. Oh and to add to the reloading I can only run the server that the data is being backed up from during the cooler evening hours to avoid blowing a breaker. (It is a Dell PowerEdge 2900) One bad *ss twin Quad (8 core 2.33) 16 GB memory, Oh and the word slow down is not even in its vocabulary. The PE motors thru anything you throw at it. except hot days or having anything else running on that particular circuit. I know your probably thinking that this could be the issue with the Linkstation failure, I can assure you it is not, I have it on its own private Edison Circuit with nothing else running on it.
With that little bitch session over with I am off my soap box
Thank You all for listening and take to heart what I said about the Link station it is all too real.
if you dont believe me call buffalo and ask them about the guy with the 714-610**** telephone number and his problems. they will confirm what I am saying. I am not giving out my entire number but they do know me, my real name is Rob and i am in Long Beach CA

Here in this blog, words themselves are making that situation where there is a great deal of pandemonium and good fortune alongside a quiet separation. Seldom found to see such ability and excitement.
